United Continental's (NYSE: UAL  ) United Airlines needs a few more airplanes -- and it's buying them from Brazil.

On Monday, Embraer (NYSE: ERJ  ) announced that it has signed a firm order agreement to sell UA 30 of its Embraer 175 regional jets, along with options to buy 40 more. At list prices, and assuming all options are exercised, the deal would be worth $2.9 billion to Embraer.

Announcing the deal, Embraer emphasized its long-standing relationship with the airline, which was Embraer's "launch customer" (the first airline to sign on the dotted line to buy its planes) for the ERJ 145 airliner back in 1996, and has been buying Embraer planes since the 1980s. (This was all pre-merger. At the time, UA was still known as Continental.)

United says it will fly the new planes under its United Express brand, and will configure them as 76-seaters offering a large first-class section, and larger overhead storage bins. The planes will replace older 50-seat aircraft -- and in addition to carrying more customers, will also be more fuel efficient.

    One under-$10 specialty pharmaceutical player that's starting to trend within range of triggering a big breakout trade is TherapeuticsMD (TXMD), which is focused on the sales, marketing and development of branded and generic pharmaceutical and OTC products primarily for the women's health care market. This stock has been in play with the bulls so far in 2013, with shares up 56%.

    If you take a look at the chart for TherapeuticsMD, you'll notice that this stock has been uptrending strong over the last three months, with shares soaring higher from its low of $2.03 to its recent high of $5.27 a share. During that uptrend, shares of TXMD have been making mostly higher lows and higher highs, which is bullish technical price action. That move has now pushed shares of TXMD within range of triggering a big breakout trade.

    Traders should now look for long-biased trades in TXMD if it manages to break out above some near-term overhead resistance levels at $4.93 a share to its 52-week high at $5.27 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above those levels with volume that hits near or above its three-month average volume of 450,661 shares. If that breakout triggers soon, then TXMD will set up to enter new 52-week high territory, which is bullish technical price action. Some possible upside targets off that breakout are $6 to $7 a share.

    Traders can look to buy TXMD off weakness to anticipate that breakout and simply use a stop that sits right below some key near-term support levels at 4.30 a share, or near its 50-day moving average of $4.15 a share. One can also buy TXMD off strength once it starts to clear those breakout levels with volume and then simply use a stop that sits a comfortable percentage from your entry point.

    Now both Bunge (NYSE: BG  ) and Cargill, the biggest U.S. grain exporter,�have said they will refuse to accept Syngenta's latest crop of GM corn for export because it will be rejected by China. Although the seeds containing the�Agrisure Duracade trait were approved for planting by the FDA last year, making this year's crop the first containing them, it hasn't been approved by Europe or China. In December, China refused�acceptance of 665,000 metric tons of corn and byproducts because it tested positive for the presence of MIR162, or Agrisure Viptera,�a genetically modified�insecticide not approved for import.

    Rivals such as Bunge (NYSE: BG  ) already have a larger presence already in the region, with Bunge generating 18% of its $62.9 billion in revenues from Asia. It derives less than a third from the U.S., thus spreading out its geographic risk better.
